Free At Last!!! (of california that is.)

We are in Rigby at last! Actually we have been here for almost two weeks and in our home for a week but we just got our Internet service installed yesterday so I haven't taken the time to update in awhile.
The past two weeks have been eventful to say the least.  Mother Nature welcomed us with a blizzard and wind storm our first Sunday here and a hefty snow storm the following Thursday.
Fortunately the weather was cold but bearable on Tuesday and Wednesday when our trucks arrived. The past couple of days the weather has been drop dead gorgeous! I dance with joy that we have come to this wonderful land of Idaho.
Riley and Sarah have been wonderful and working their you know whats off helping us. And the grand kids!  What a treat to have them close! And they like to come see us! Life is sooo good!
Our new ward is wonderful. We haven't been to church yet but we have met many of them and the are all so nice, friendly and welcoming.  About 25 came to help us unload and they had us unloaded in about 40 minutes, fed all of us including the helpers, and when they left and we walked into our bedroom the bed was even made up for us!  Can you see me dancing??  Woo hoo!!
We have made great progress unpacking thanks to Sarah and Riley. It's a comfortable home and will serve us well.
We miss our friends in Visalia a lot but this is where we need to be and we are happy and delighted to be here.
All our love from Idaho - home of the Spudnuts!

We Are Making Progress!

Just so you know we are on top of the packing chores, check out the picture of Sarah's old basement bedroom - aka moms storage room.

Looks rather clean and empty does it not? Believe it or not the rest of the basement looks about the same. The only things left down here is the sofa, recliner, entertainment center and my computer on a card table! The rest of the house is getting close to being the same with one exception - the garage.

Needless to say we don't have room to park the cars inside anymore. And the old office building is about two thirds full also. I'm praying that the two moving vans we have ordered will be enough to take everything!

I look forward to this being over. I am so done with packing every spare moment! If we ever must move again before I die, I have determined that I will be much more efficient. I shall use the old gas can and match method. That's one gallon of gas, one match, and one very large pile of your stuff. Season stuff with gas and carefully light with match. Wait for a day or two until everything has cooled off. Sweep up stuff in a two gallon bucket and place in back seat of your car. Now you can move wherever you want - cheap!

I'm loaded with similar great idea's. Have I ever told you about spaghetti in a sack? Well...

The trees are gone!

Friday the new owners of our home finally finished removing our beloved trees. The house is so exposed that we like we are on view for all to see. It made me feel like tho house is no longer our home but then I remembered - its not! I'm sure when the new owners are done with all their plans for replanting and improving the property it will be beautiful. We will have to have some friends come over and that some pictures from time to time and send them to us so we can see the progress.

News flash! Due to the fine help of Riley and Sarah we are now the proud owners of a genuine slightly used John Deer garden tractor! Mom found a posting on Craigs List in the Rigby area for it so we called Riley and and Sarah, they went and looked at it and we got it. I can hardly wait to try it out!

In other random news a couple of weeks ago the primary wanted to surprise me with a going away heart attack and this it the result.

The door to my bishops office was covered from ceiling to floor will hearts and messages made by the primary children. I loved it and my soul was touched by this simple expression by these wonderful children. They are still on the door and I told the ward leadership not to be surprised if when I'm released that the door disappears. I just my end up with us in Rigby.
On a final note it looks like we well complete the sale of our two Fresno franchises this week. It is greatly needed and the Lord is blessing us in our efforts. We are actively marketing our remaining franchises and with the Lords help maybe those will be sold soon also.
That's all for now. We are happy and well! Love to you all!

It's getting Closer!

Well Katie has flown back home, Granny, Grandpa, and Gail drove home today and Mom and I can actually see the beginning of the end of packing! A couple of more days and we will be about ready. Katie and Mark worked their tails off helping us. Without them this move would be a disaster! Granny and Tom and Diane have be great helps as well. Katie has also taught us how to use Craigslist, Started this blog for us, and managed to kick our bums playing Mario Kart and Bowling on the Wii. And she did it all with a smile! What a gal!
Now the count down begins in earnest. In four weeks we will be on our way and will be spudnuts for real. I can hardly wait! Mom is even starting to get excited.
We are looking forward to new beginnings and being closer to the Hall branch of the family. I just hope they don't pass out when they see the amount of stuff we are bringing with us!
Visalia has been good to us and the best part of living here has been our great friends We will miss our wonderful friends. Words can't express how much we will miss them but we look forward to making many new ones.
Well enogh for now. As we learn how to fully us this site we will share more.

Love to all of you!

Hijacked

So, this is Katie and I have hijacked Mom and Dad's blog! Ah...the power of knowing their password! Anyways, I didn't get a chance to clue them in on how to use this thing before I left. I'll have to give them an over the phone tutorial. The reason we got distracted was, Gayle drove Granny and Grandpa up to visit us. It was great to see them all, and they kept us busy packing up until the moment I left. It was fun to see you guys!
